Midweek Message August 20, 2025

With deep gratitude to all for making space for the children of the congregation to have Summer FUUN in the parking lot this summer, all but one parking lot spot has been returned to you! Park freely and happily! The one remaining spot will be cleared away, with its contents going to their winter resting places on 9/6, when we have Morgan House organization day.

This Spring and Summer, I did a lot of research with highly functioning UU Faith Formation experiences - asking for their time and receiving it for free. (The UUniverse beyond our walls is kind of amazing!)

Everywhere, the message was the same. Kids who like coming to Church keep coming back. Kids like Church when they have a friend there, or an adult who listens to them, or many friends and many adults who listen to them, and show care for them. We’re building community, and we’re trying to do it in increasingly fun FUUN ways.

I’ve been working with congregation partners here at FUUN to increase our Multi-Generational interactions, with about one a month planned from here until the end of the calendar year - so even if you are not used to reading the Faith Formation section of the eblast - take a gander and see what we’re up to this year, and especially for where we’re breaking down silos, together! - Rev.
