Hello FUUN Community!

This past weekend, the Time For All Ages (TFAA for short) centered on the 2023 UUMA Ministry Days Berry Street Essay by Rev. Cecilia Kingman, and her message to ministers of our faith surrounding facism (and My Little Pony).  If you’d like to see the whole prescient lecture, you can find it here.   The video is at the top, just below the title, but if you are watching/listening on your phone, you will need to turn your phone sideways to make it show up.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Academics and Ministers like to talk and introduce each other, so if you want to skip all of that, you should start at 20:10 to get to Rev. Cecilia’s actual lecture start.  It’s the best Berry Street lecture I’ve attended.  (If you like this one and want to see more of North America’s oldest/ longest running lecture series - here’s the catalogue!)

It’s been wonderful to watch this congregation grow in joy this year.  Thank you to all of the big and small people who made birdfeeders for our campus or your backyard, pine cone ornaments for our tree or yours, and decorated cookies with wagonloads of sugar this past Sunday.

The fun continues this weekend!  Faith Formation sessions will end early at 11 - adults, please connect with your kids at that time BECAUSE - we are having the whole congregation over to Morgan House to do social hour and Christmas Crafting TOGETHER.  These crafts are a step above glitter and glue - crafts for adults and kids alike.  We designed it this way because we want the whole congregation to engage with our families - sit next to them and craft a while!  Get to know each other. There will be delicious smelling oranges and cinnamon and cloves crafts, there will be very fancy looking (but easy to make) Christmas ornaments (make one for you and one for our social hall tree!).  And there will be a chance to make Happy Little Trees like a pro, and all of your usual delicious snacks will be available at Morgan House.  Special thanks to member Anna Crecraft and family for making this day happen!

On Christmas Eve we invite you to come to the 5:00 service cozy and comfy in your Christmas PJs.  If that’s a bridge too far for you, (it won’t be for me!) come in whatever is comfortable for you and that makes you feel festive, merry and bright.  This service is designed with families in mind and springs from the brains of our Jr. Youth (6-8th graders).  Afterwards a Hot Cocoa Cider Bar awaits, which will also welcome those coming in for a more traditional service at 7.  You are welcome at BOTH.  And BOTH will feature the FUUN tradition of ending the service with silent night by candlelight.

Come join us in the activities that make us a community!  Enjoy each other this holiday season, and come back for more community in the new year - we need each other!

With love,

Rev. Jennifer
