From the Committee on Shared Ministry and the Leadership Development Team

A year ago, we waited anxiously for Rev. Charlotte’s arrival.  Now is a good time to reflect on how FUUN has changed, what went well and what needs work, and to prepare for the new year.

The Committee on Shared Ministry (COSM) is responsible for supporting and assessing the overall health and effectiveness of the congregation’s shared ministries—both professional and lay.  Our goal is to encourage alignment with the congregation’s mission and covenant, affirm its strengths, and identify areas for growth.

One of our specific charges is to provide guidance on leadership effectiveness, relationships, and alignment of annual goals with measurable outcomes.  To fulfill that goal, we partnered with FUUN’s Leadership Development Team (LDT). You should know that the Leadership Development Team is eager to support teams and committees in the important work that we all do. They’ve scheduled an important training/communication session for Sunday, September 13, 2026, 11:30am - 1:30pm in the Bartok Room. Lunch will be provided!

The session will explore:

>  aligning our team mission/vision with the greater FUUN mission/vision

>  fitting our work with the new governance model

>  drawing in new team members and energizing experienced ones

>  leadership models

>  identifying what is working well; making improvements where necessary

>  running a successful, productive meeting

Everyone is welcome, but the COSM and LDT very strongly recommend that all church leaders and committee chairs participate. Feel free to contact Jodi McDaniel if you have questions. We look forward to learning together!

Finally, we can’t say this enough. The COSM is always available to listen to your thoughts about FUUN. We encourage everyone to seek us out.  All COSM members wear identifying nametags. Or if you prefer, email your thoughts to the COSM at FUUNSharedMinistry@gmail.com.  All discussions and emails are confidential.
