This December, our congregation is honored to name NOAH as our Share the Plate partner. NOAH is a faith-led, multiracial and interdenominational coalition of congregations, community organizations, and labor unions working to give voice to traditionally marginalized people in Nashville.

NOAH’s Mission

NOAH’s mission is to combat systemic injustices through community engagement, training, and direct public action; their vision is a Nashville that is antiracist, just, and equitable for all people.

Their work is organized through task-forces focused on key issues identified by their members: affordable housing; education; economic equity, jobs, and transportation; and transformational justice (including criminal justice reform).

NOAH’s Impact in Nashville

  • Affordable Housing: NOAH has successfully organized for more than $130 million to flow into the city’s housing trust fund, enabling nonprofit developers to preserve and produce affordable housing.

  • Shaping Housing Policy: Their advocacy helped create a dedicated division for housing within Metro Nashville’s planning department — ensuring housing equity remains a priority regardless of political change.

  • Education & Justice Reform: Through NOAH’s Education and Transformational Justice task-forces, they have influenced school policies to reduce suspensions and help break the school-to-prison pipeline.

  • Economic Equity and Opportunity: NOAH works to expand job opportunities, equitable access to resources, and fair economic conditions for low- and middle-income residents in Nashville.

By choosing NOAH as our Share the Plate partner this December, we are supporting an organization that goes beyond charity — one that mobilizes community, challenges systemic inequities, and works for lasting, structural change in Nashville.
