First UU Church of Nashville is excited to announce that the congregation unanimously voted yesterday to call Rev. Charlotte Arsenault (she/her) as our new settled minister!
Rev. Charlotte most recently served as lead minister at the Georgia Mountains Unitarian Universalist Church in Dahlonega, where she’s been for the past 12 years. Prior to that she interned at Emerson UU in Marietta, her hometown.
She received her Master of Divinity from Harvard and undergraduate degree in philosophy and religion at Queens University. She was ordained at Georgia Mountains and is in full fellowship with the UUA.
Throughout the search process, Rev. Charlotte exuded warmth and relatability while sharing her passions for social action and presenting extraordinary leadership and pastoral skills. She brings experience in palliative care, crisis intervention and de-escalation, and non-violent communication. Her joyful energy certainly resonates with our congregation’s vibrant worship life and shared commitment to justice.
Next Steps: Rev. Charlotte will officially begin her ministry with FUUN on August 1, 2025. Rev. Charlotte will take this time to conclude her faithful ministry with the Georgie Mountains UU Church while preparing for her transition into life at FUUN. We will begin the onboarding process in the coming weeks. You can expect more information soon as we prepare to joyfully receive the Arsenault family into our community. We hope you will join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter together.
This announcement would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our Ministerial Search Committee. This behind-the-scenes team worked tirelessly to craft a job description, conduct a nationwide search, host interviews, and welcome finalist candidates for discernment. Their wisdom, patience, care, and commitment ensured a process grounded in collaboration and bold vision. Please join us in thanking them for guiding FUUN into its next chapter of shared ministry: Steve Jones (chair), Carleen Dowell, Jeannie Haman, Bill Latimer, Pat Lynch, Doug Pasto-Crosby, and Jessica Young.
