Would you enjoy the opportunity for more extended conversations about topics related to FUUN’s principles and mission? Would you like to get to know members of our congregation better?  You might be interested in Covenant Groups, a renewal of a program that ran at FUUN for many years before COVID.

Members of Covenant Groups commit (or make a covenant with each other—hence, the name) to meet regularly from September to May, discussing a different topic at each meeting.  The conversations are more focused than ordinary social interactions but more personal than a class on a philosophical topic.  The members of the group draw on their own personal experiences and beliefs as they explore significant questions together.  Usually the groups meet for 90 minutes twice a month. Typically, there are six to twelve people in a group; although each group writes its own covenant, confidentiality is central to all groups.  Groups could meet in person or online.

Some of us (Brian Carlson, Paul Gherman, Nancy Ledbetter, Susan Johnston, Ann Wheeler) who were involved in these earlier groups miss them, and we are developing a grassroots effort to start them again.  We have the blessing of the church staff, but we’ll organize and sustain the groups on our own.  We hope to get started in the fall.  Are you interested?  Please use this form to let us know and to tell us how to contact you when we have more details.  Questions? You can contact us at covenant@thefuun.org.
